Description
The General Surgery residency at Rutgers Health/Community Medical Center seeks a categorical PGY-1 level General Surgery resident to start July 1, 2024.

We are a community-based residency program that began in 2022. Our residents train primarily at Community Medical Center in Toms River, NJ, and complete rotations at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ, and Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ.

Requirements
To apply, submit ONE application packet, via email only, to Cynthia Nwana at [email protected] containing the following items. Applications are being accepted through Monday, June 10, 2024 at 6pm (EST). 

  1. ERAS application (if available)
  2. Current CV with a reference list
  3. Personal Statement 
  4. USMLE/COMLEX Scores (Step 1, Step 2)
  5. Medical School Transcript and Diploma
  6. Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE)/ Dean's letter
  7. 3 letters of recommendation, preferably from General Surgery faculty (can use current ERAS LORs)
  8. Only J-1 visas accepted, no exception
NO phones call will be accepted. Applicants will be notified via email regarding selection for interview. 

Eligibility requirement:  Applicant should be no more than 5 years out from completion of Medical School.
