The University at Buffalo residency program in Family Medicine has been training residents since 1969, making it one of the three original programs in the United States. We have had over 819 resident graduates who have gone on to successful positions as Family doctors. The best of several worlds is available with the UB Family Medicine Residency Program, a multi-site training program with four resident training centers located in urban, suburban and rural areas. We are one of the oldest Family Medicine residency programs in the country, located in Buffalo, NY. Our residency is housed in three destinct sites across the city and suburbs of Buffalo. This position is located at our Buffalo General Medical Center/Jericho Family Medicine site. This site is a heavily refugee health site. A deep care for serving underserved, refugee populations is desired, as well as a strong interest in global health.
Criteria
Application Criteria Medical School Graduation in the past 5 years. If Medical School training was outside of the US, Canada or Great Britain, the applicant must have 6 months clinical experience inpatient or outpatient, in the past 2 years, within the United States, Canada or Great Britain. Not more than one retake on either step one or step two of USMLEs. Must have passed the Clinical Skills Exam on the first attempt (IF APPLICABLE) Must have a valid ECFMG certificate (includes passing the CSA). We have an unexpected opening for a PGY-2 position. Applicants interested in this position must have a least 1 year successful completion in an ACGME accredited Family Medicine Residency. Please submit a Personal statement, 3 LORs, Dean’s letter/MSPE, Medical School Transcipts, CV and exam scores. All applicants must have passed Steps 1 and 2 ( or the equivalent of COMLEX) ECFMG certification is required for international graduates
